Gypsum-based plasters are used for finishing the interior of buildings. On account of its high water retention, methyl cellulose provides for an easy working consistency and high standing strength. In addition it helps the plaster to harden without cracking. Methyl cellulose has a major influence on the plaster yield and workability during the initial and secondary smoothing procedures.
Recommended addition rates for methyl cellulose are in the range of 0.2 – 0.32%.
From among our broad range of Walocel® M grades for gypsum-based plasters we recommend:
- MKX 30000 PF 60 E
- MKX 40000 PP 30
- MKX 70000 PP 35
